Etiquette at Kingaroy Golf Club

Dress Code:

  • Neat Attire
  • Sleeveless Shirts not allowed
  • Hat & Sunscreen

Course Etiquette:

  • No player shall play until the players in front are out of range
  • If searching for a ball, signal the players behind to pass as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball is not going to be easily found.  Wait until the signalled players have passed and out of range
  • Faster players must be called through when the course ahead is clear for more than one fairway
  • Players must move well away from the green before marking cards
  • Buggies should not be left in front of greens but to the side
  • Move briskly between shots
  • If there is any doubt as to the location of the ball, a provisional ball should be played before going forward to search
  • No one should move, talk or stand close to or directly behind the ball or the hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke
  • Before leaving a bunker, a player should fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made.  Rakes should be replaced in the bunker and parallel to fairway after use
  • Through the green, a player should ensure that any turf cut or displaced is replaced at once and pressed down – please use sand buckets.  Carefully repair any damage to putting greens.  Repairs to green should be undertaken on completion of the hole
  • The player with the lowest handicap in any match or competition automatically becomes the Captain of the Match; it becomes his responsibility to ensure that the points mentioned above are strictly observed
  • All players should look at the Notice Board before starting play so they are aware of all notices, local rules, etc.
  • Handicaps should be checked before commencing
  • Motorized carts must be kept a minimum of 5 metres from all greens and 2 metres from tees
